I’m Brian, the coach from Beeston. I specialise in coaching people through making changes to their lives that lead to a brighter future.  Many people hit a stage in their life when they need something different.  However, not everyone knows what that difference is!

My starting point is to help you to focus on the future while learning from the past.   I work with you to develop a plan to make your vision a reality.  I help you identify what motivates you, what type of work environment you favour, your communication patterns, and the beliefs you have that hold you back.  I support you to develop self-confidence and motivation to take action, which is key to your success.

I have several tools that I can use to support you. They include a DISC profile, a simple to understand psychometric profile that helps you to develop a deeper understanding of your behavioural style. It will help you to become a better communicator, appreciate the differences in others, deal with conflict and understand how to influence others.   I can support your coaching journey through the use of a ‘the Curve’ which enables you to record your progress on-line.  It is a powerful way of keeping track of your coaching journey over time, leading to greater accountability and better outcomes.

How will I coach you?

People I have worked with describe me as a great listener who can ask the right questions to help them move forward. My approach to coaching is to be patient, empathetic and non-judgemental while challenging your thinking and providing a safe environment in which to explore options.

Typically the areas that I would work with you on include:

  •  Setting personal and professional goals that are challenging
  • Identifying your strengths and how to use these
  • Overcoming beliefs that are holding you back
  • Understanding how you can communicate with others more effectively
  • Motivating you to take action and achieve your goal

The benefits that you are likely to get depends upon how engaged you are with the coaching process and your commitment to take action towards your goal. My role as a coach is to motivate you to take these actions and to remind you of the commitments that you have made. By working together in this way your chances of success are greatly increased.

As we are all unique in our own way, I can produce a DISC profile for my clients. This is a psychometric profile that offers a better understanding of core strengths and how to use them. Through this insight, we can determine what motivates you, what type of work environment you favour, your communication patterns, and we also uncover any fears and insecurity. Then we focus on your skills, how to amplify them as well as work towards overcoming your internal blocks and doubts. Triggering self-confidence is a key aspect of my approach.

To get the ball rolling and to see if I am the right coach for you, I offer a free introductory no-obligation ‘discovery call’.  This gives you the experience of being coached by me and enables us to get to know each other.

My standard coaching session is conducted through Zoom and lasts an hour. I usually run these at weekly intervals.  There is no commitment to a set number of sessions, and I ask all my clients to review how the coaching is working for them after four sessions.

If you would prefer face to face coaching this can be arranged at a mutual local location, subject to current restrictions.  As I live close to the Attenborough Nature Reserve, this can make a great place to have a ‘walk and talk’ coaching session.
